Friends of Ruth Keeler Memorial Library PDF Print E-mail

The mission of the Friends is to serve the people who reside, work or attend school in North Salem through service to the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library. Their service takes the form of volunteering at the library, raising funds for selected programs and materials, and working in consultation with the library director and trustees. They receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library. The Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization without any political or religious affiliation.
 

Over the past few years the Friends have generously provided the library with computers, refreshments for library programs, and children's entertainers. They also have sponsored other events including:

A pop, classical and jazz performance by The Highpoint Players
A Holiday Craft and Book Boutique
The Summer Reading Game Party for Children
The West Point Concert Band
A lecture by Eric Pooley on "Global Warming and Presidential Politics"
A talk by Donald Bain, author of the "Murder, She Wrote" series
The Friday Night Movie Program

Author talk by Barbara Traynor
A number of museum passes

The Friends volunteer at the library and put in many hours helping at the annual spring Book, Bake and Plant Sale/Library Fair. They meet monthly and their meetings are open to the public.

       Secretary - Mary Ann Barbieri
